Located between Tongeren and Maastricht, it is the last Flemish municipality before the border with the Netherlands. it is a small municipality more than worth a visit. thanks to the centuries-long exploitation of marl, which started before the 15th century, there stretches under your feet a kilometre long system of corridors. i visited the marl caves of Kanne. our guide took us along with a fascinating story with the necessary humour. i admired fossils and drawings of prehistoric animals. after having discovered a lot in caves, we sounded for a moment with a glass that was offered to us. then i went to the visitor centre 'De Brug' is a museum dedicated to the second world war. not very big, but impressive because of the combination of image and sound. i was very quiet. to round off the day well, i visited the wine castle Genoels-Elderen. i walked through the cellars, the yards and the organisation breathe the atmospheres of the great Burgundy. after the tour, i could not resist for a moment to taste the
